Action for change

Action for Change is not just a workshop—it marks a strategic shift in Alfariq Association’s approach to youth engagement. At a time when many of Alfariq’s main programs were becoming increasingly selective and topic-specific, a need emerged to re-open the association’s space to a broader audience of youth in Ouarzazate. This is how Action for Change was born—as one of the first parallel programs designed to welcome new faces and reconnect with local students. The participants in this edition came from two key high schools in Tarmigt—Badr and Kadi Ayad—and were invited to take part in an open, inclusive program.

Empowering Youth to Believe in Their Own Impact

The program centered on the idea that change begins with intention and is possible even in the smallest daily choices. Students explored what it means to be a change-maker, not by waiting for perfect conditions, but by recognizing their own capacity to act. Through a blend of motivational discussions and interactive exercises, participants were encouraged to reflect on their personal and social environment, identify areas they wished to improve, and think critically about the obstacles and possibilities they face. Action for Change served as a first encounter with Alfariq's values and methods, and gave participants a chance to envision themselves as active members of a wider movement for positive action.

A Cornerstone of Alfariq’s Parallel Programs

Alongside other programs like “L9raya Bouhda Makafatch”, “Soyer, C’est 100% Positive”, “Minute pour l’Inspiration”, and “Mli Wlit Moubadir”, Action for Change helped lay the foundation for a new model of engagement within Alfariq: one that is open, spontaneous, and rooted in community access. These parallel programs were created to offer youth a first step toward discovering their potential and learning about Alfariq’s ecosystem of leadership, creativity, and civic empowerment. As the first of its kind, Action for Change remains a symbol of Alfariq’s willingness to adapt and to meet young people where they are—with honesty, ambition, and a shared dream for transformation.
