Ihraz Plus
In the wake of the pandemic and during the quarantine period, young people were constantly exposed to a flood of media content—much of it misleading, biased, or lacking factual grounding. The lack of critical engagement with this content revealed a serious gap in media literacy and analytical thinking among youth. Ihraz Plus was designed by Alfariq Association as a creative and urgent response to this challenge. Evolving from the internal Ihraz program, Ihraz Plus extended the initiative to a wider circle of participants, aiming to develop critical thinking through an innovative hybrid model—combining online dialogue and in-person training.

Dialogue, Analysis, and Creative Media Production
The heart of Ihraz Plus lies in its method: using media—articles, films, podcasts, and books—as entry points for critical discussion. During the online phase, participants were engaged in curated discussions where they analyzed and debated content in a structured, reflective manner. The in-person phases then brought these discussions to life, as participants gathered in regional hubs like Ouarzazate, Zagora, and Tinghir (specifically in Kelaa M’Gouna) for hands-on training. Workshops covered a variety of creative and media skills such as podcast production, artistic photography, critical writing, and storytelling. Through these experiences, participants built not only awareness but also tools to produce thoughtful, original content.
Empowering Young Voices Through Challenge and Expression
Each edition of Ihraz Plus culminated in creative challenges that encouraged participants to transform reflection into action. Youth teams created their own podcast episodes, launched small digital magazines, and exhibited their photography or written pieces—all rooted in critical perspectives developed during the program. With four successful editions completed, Ihraz Plus has proven to be more than a training—it’s a platform for creative expression and civic engagement. The third edition was held entirely in person, while the fourth edition took the program’s reach even further, operating simultaneously across three cities. The program continues to inspire youth to question, create, and speak out.
