Alfariq Launches the Local Academy for Initiation to Citizen Participation with the First Bootcamp in Ouarzazate

As part of the Local Academy for Initiation to Citizen Participation, Alfariq successfully organized the first bootcamp in Ouarzazate, bringing together young participants eager to engage in local governance and community development.

This first bootcamp marked the official launch of the academy, designed to empower youth with essential skills for civic participation. Participants included high school and university students, young professionals, and local activists motivated to become active contributors to their communities. The academy’s objectives focus on strengthening knowledge of local institutions, developing leadership and communication skills, and fostering a sense of civic responsibility among youth.

During the three-day bootcamp, participants took part in dynamic workshops on topics such as the fundamentals of local councils and their roles, public policy processes, and the rights and responsibilities of citizens. Key sessions included interactive training on debate and argumentation, strategies for effective participation in local decision-making, and practical exercises on drafting project proposals for community initiatives.

The bootcamp also provided space for team-building and networking, allowing participants to share experiences and ideas across diverse backgrounds. Looking ahead, the upcoming bootcamps will continue to build on these foundations, offering advanced workshops on advocacy strategies, digital communication for civic engagement, and collaborative projects with local decision-makers.

Through the Local Academy, Alfariq reaffirms its commitment to nurturing an informed, proactive, and engaged generation ready to lead positive change within their communities.
