Let's Read

The Let’s Read program is an educational initiative launched by Alfariq Association to raise awareness among children and their parents about the importance of reading. The idea was born from the belief that nurturing children with the habit of reading is a gradual, cumulative process that must start from an early age. It requires programs and activities that shape awareness, expand horizons, and contribute to building confident, creative, and leadership-capable young generations. Through carefully designed workshops, reading circles, and creative activities, Let’s Read offers children the opportunity to explore the world through books while strengthening essential skills in problem-solving, empathy, and imagination.

Program Objectives

The Let’s Read program aims to create a lasting impact on young participants and their families by promoting reading as a daily habit and a means of self-development. Its key objectives include raising awareness about the value of reading among children and parents, enhancing children’s ability to imagine, improving their reading comprehension skills, and connecting life experiences with story characters. It also teaches problem-solving techniques through narratives, develops language and vocabulary skills, and activates the role of school libraries as lively learning spaces within the community.

Where and when?

The Let’s Read program was organized across two separate educational institutions in the Ouarzazate province. The activities took place between January 14 and January 22, 2023, at Tikert School and Al-Khansaa School. Over these two days in each, dozens of young students participated in interactive reading sessions, creative workshops, and storytelling exercises. Each activity was tailored to develop both literacy and leadership skills, leaving a lasting impression on the children while also involving parents and teachers in the awareness process.
